Let not the call for ‘AI-slop’ stop you from being heard

We’re punishing 'AI slop' on LinkedIn. Are we also silencing those who needed AI to find their voice?

A bigger question that the ‘Seems like AI slop’ button on LinkedIn raises.

There's already this fear of 'I fear if I sounded silly.'

Now we might be adding 'I fear if I sounded AI.'

We need to recognise that there are people in this world who have so much inside them, but struggle to get it out.

They’ve never lacked thoughts.
If anything, they have too many.

The struggle is never thinking.
It’s organising.

Their challenge has always been untangling the complexity of what they see and feel into a language others can follow.

And to express emotions that feel clear in their own minds but messy when they try to put them into words.

This is where AI has been a powerful partner.

It doesn’t replace their thinking.

It acts as a mirror, helping them see their own logic more clearly, find patterns, organize the mess and put language to ideas that were already there.

In our call to be ‘authentic’ online, let’s not create unnecessary barrier for those who already are struggling to be heard.

Let’s not shame people for using the tools that finally help them be seen.

❤️ And to all of you who’ve found that AI helps you finally put words to thoughts that you struggle to express, don’t let a button, a label, or someone else’s judgement push you back into silence.
